Conscious Beauty Series - The Honey Pot Co. Plant-Based Feminine Care

Conscious Beauty Series - The Honey Pot Co. Plant-Based Feminine Care

Some months ago, I started paying more attention to the conversation surrounding the mass production of feminine products. In light of the things I was learning, as it related to the harmful chemicals used to make them, I was really wanting to find a healthier alternative; feminine care products that were made with non-toxic ingredients. Cue The Honey Pot Co.

In the first installment of this conscious beauty series, I explained how the motive behind this growing trend is us consumers being more “conscious” of the ingredients used in our “beauty” and wellness products. And I wanted to share some of my favorite conscious beauty buys with you all, in an effort to give you a starting place for some products to try as you look to transition to toxin-free items. Well, I want to take it a step further and say, for me at least, that along with being more aware of the ingredients I’m putting in and on my body, I’m also considering the people making them. And as of late, I’ve really been making the effort to support businesses owned and operated by black women.

The first time I ever heard of The Honey Pot Co. was on T-Pain’s School of Business show on Fuse. I was completely locked in during the episode, because it was just so interesting. The Honey Pot Co. is a plant-based feminine care company, owned and operated by BEA FELIU-ESPADA. In the episode, Bea explained how she was suffering from some health issues, when an ancestor came to her in a dream, and gave her the recipe to cure her ailment using various plants and herbs. And get this…it worked! From there, she decided to share the wealth and The Honey Pot Co. came to life in 2014.

Now you know I had to go searching on the website for some goodies because by this point, I was completely sold. At the time, when I visited the website, I think there was only the foaming wash, pantiliners, pads and maybe a few more items. But I remember telling my fiance’ how perfect it would be if she made tampons, too! And guess what? Sis released some tampons a few months later. I was so excited because my feminine care stash was about to get revamped for the better.

I usually make my purchases online, but now, you can actually find The Honey Pot Co. in a Target near you! My go-to products are the Normal Foam Wash, Everyday Herbal-Infused Pantiliners, Jasmine Refreshing Panty Spray, and the Sensitive Feminine Wipes. Just giving you a heads up on the herbal-infused pantiliners, and this may be true for the pads too, but I’m not sure; they have this cooling sensation that might throw you off the first time you wear them. But it’s not overwhelming, it’s just different! You’ll get used to it, though. I actually find it refreshing!

If you aren’t sure which products are right for you, they have a fun little quiz to point you in the right direction!

Subscription services are a big thing now, so if you’re forgetful or hate going into Target, because you end up buying way more than what you went in there for (it happens to all of us), then sign up for one on the Honey Pot Co. website, at checkout! It’s super easy. You can customize your products, adjust the frequency and cancel at anytime.

One more thing I’ve gotta add, because aside from the products, it’s also one of my favorite things about the company, their blog is bomb! They cover just about any topic related to our lady parts such as what foods to eat for optimal vaginal health, feminine care product comparisons and more! I highly recommend you go check it out.

Thank you, Bea, for putting so much care and thought in creating these products. They are literally, the best!

Until next time,

XoXo,

Jas
